Letter, 1820 Jan. 25.

Fragment of a letter from Thomas Read (location unknown), to Bernon Helme, Esq. of Providence, Rhode Island, bears Charlotte, West Virginia postal markings of January 25, 1820, and is torn along middle fold. The letter concerns brother Nathaniel Helme's performance as instructor to Read's children and Read's opinion of his neighbor, John Randolph, "the Cicero of the Southern States."
